how to get the pin to fit easily March 3, 2013
Reviewer: S.B from arlington hts, IL United States
The Wah is not bad could use few improvements but overall its ok. The trick to getting the pin in is too slightly enlarge the right side with a drill bit and this works great. Just be careful not too enlarge the hole too much just enough to be able to get the pin in without having to hammer away like a mad person.

Absolutely worst build experience I have ever had. February 16, 2013
Reviewer: D.H. from San Francisco, CA United States
I just tried to build two of these enclosures and things went from bad to worse. . .

The first pedal's pin would not seat.  I was disciplined and followed the instructions carefully, but, by the end, my nice new pedal enclosure has a nasty hammer scar.  I finally got the pin to seat, by carefully padding my bench-vise and using a mallet to turn the vise arm.  It took me 20 minutes of banging, to finally get the pin in.

After all that drama, I hoped the second pedal would go better, but it was worse--even after using vise.

This has been the absolute worst pedal-building experience I have ever been through.  I now have two beat-up wah enclosures that I spent ~$90 on, and I can't use either of them in wah orders for customers.

The pin needs redesigning. December 16, 2012
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from United States
I would love to see the guy in the video hammer the pin in on a finished enclosure.....I have built a few of these and tried doing it that way and at damaged the finish.
When using a hammer more often than not, the side touching the bench gets scuffed up or the hammer dents the treadle. You really have to repeatedly whack it hard, as the video shows!

My solution is to put an 1/8" thick hard rubber shim under the treadle only, get a $45 arbor press from Harbor Freight and a piece of 3" drill rod to make a press pin and it works OK. I had to make a dimple in the drill rod end as the WHA-WAH pivot pin has a rounded head or it will slip off.

If you can't afford a press you can also file off some of the straight knurling on the end of the pin as it is has an excessive height for a press fit. Typically on straight knurl press fit  of a pin, anything more than 0.006" is excessive and the ones I measured were way beyond that. The tensioning block will make it so it will not come out.

Excellent Enclosure with lots of Color Options December 14, 2012
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from United States
1. This is not a Paint by Numbers Project for a complete newbie.
2. This should be obvious anyway since just setting up a Wah requires experience.
3. Everything is included that you will need.
4. Patience and mostly Common Sense will yield a very nice Custom Wah Pedal in any color you like. Contrary to the two reviews below the bearing pin fits easily with a few taps, exactly as it is supposed to. I personally think this is a no brainer but I guess a few brain cells are required after reading some the other comments. Also the Quality of all the components is absolutely fine and up to any Wah Pedal standard.

Poor Quality November 23, 2012
Reviewer: JH from Chicago, IL United States
The diecast is sturdy but the rest ios poor quality. There are nbo instruction so it will take a while to figure out how to assemble it. You will need a press to get the pin in, unless you think toyu can be lucky with a hammer.... The most dissapointing aspect is the poor quality of the finish. The powdercoat is so thin at spots that you can even see streaks of the diecast enclosure below it. Best to order plain and powdercoat it yoursels as this a poor job!
